Pre-event tour

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), in partnership with Alfa Laval, will be organising a pre-event tour on 03 Mar 2026 from 8.45am to 4pm.

EDB is Singapore’s lead agency that plans and executes economic and industrial development strategies for Singapore. Recently, Singapore has bolstered its efforts to develop a bioeconomy – this will include R&D investments to support companies to further research in developing products derived from biological feedstocks and/or produced using biological processes.

The pre-event would be an opportunity for you to understand the existing capabilities and expertise in our local research ecosystem. This would be your chance to explore how you could potentially tap into these capabilities and further your business endeavours in Singapore. You can expect a sharing session by the Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), Scaleup Bio and the National University of Singapore Synthetic Biology for Clinical & Technological Innovation (NUS SynCTI). You can also expect to receive first-hand insights on how industry has partnered these institutions.

What’s more, there would also be a tour of:
(1) [Morning] Scaleup Bio’s facility – a precision fermentation CDMO
(2) [Afternoon] Alfa Laval’s technical centre

There are only 30 slots available for the morning session and 40 slots for the afternoon visit to Alfa Laval, on a first-come-first serve basis. You’ll resceive details on how to register for the pre-event upon purchase of your Delegate Pass

*Please note that you would have to arrange your own transport to SIFBI and from Alfa Laval

NUS SynCTI

As part of the Global Biofoundry Alliance (GBA), SynCTI’s Biofoundry is the platform where we mould biology to serve a translatable outcome. The foundry is an integrated facility based on the concept of Design, Build, Test and Learn and is heavily automated to perform routine as well as specialized tasks in a high-throughput manner. Our skilled workforce applies these advanced platforms to biosystems to generate a range of applications like novel assay platforms for metabolite detection, automation and therapeutics. We also believe in fostering advanced research through international collaborations and aim to become a central hub for synthetic biology research in Asia.
